Celebrity DJ and Pensacola’s Best of the Coast Winner, Mr. Lao, Brings Innovative Entertainment to the Area’s Number One Nightlife Destination

Pensacola, Fla. (February 14, 2011) – PENSACOLA, Fla. – Seville Quarter, recently named in the prestigious Top 100 Nightclubs & Bar list, annually presented by Nightclub & Bar Magazine, has announced an important addition to its already impressive roster of entertainment. Once again changing the landscape of nightlife on the Gulf Coast, Seville Quarter is proud to announce former music executive and celebrity DJ, Mr. Lao as the new resident mixer in Phineas Phoggs, the main room at the massive entertainment complex. Mr. Lao will kick-off the new i100 Wednesday night on February 16 while beginning his new position Wednesday, Feb. 23.

Mr. Lao, speaking about his new position, says, “Seville Quarter was just named as a 2011 Top 100 Nightclub in the country alongside B.E.D. in Miami, Tenjune in New York and Pure in Las Vegas, and I want to be associated with the best on the Gulf Coast.”

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Mr. Lao started his career a decade ago as a battle DJ. Mr. Lao soon moved on to the fickle Hollywood nightclub scene performing at some of the area’s most exclusive nightclubs. It was in the Hollywood scene where he met the world famous DJ Icy Ice, of the legendary Beat Junkies. “Icy Ice taught me everything I know,” explains Mr. Lao. “He taught me how to read a crowd, what to play, how to play it and most importantly, how to keep the crowd rockin’!”

Mr. Lao has shared the DJ booth with other legendary DJs such as Vice, DJ Echo (S.K.A.M. Artists), DJ Virman (Far East Movement), Funkmaster Flex and Cipha Sounds (Hot 97/Heavy Hitters) and John Magic (Crowd Control DJs/B95 Fresno, CA). He’s been a regular performer for celebrities such as Bow Wow, Tamia, Omarion and The Black Eyed Peas to name a few.
