2011 Gumbo Cook-off Results

The Annual Gumbo Ya~Ya sponsored by Seville Quarter was held on Saturday, March, 19, 2011. Over $2000 was donated to the local Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Florida organization. The Cook-off was coordinated by Paula Shell, Executive Director of BB/BS and Doug Mitchell from Seville Quarter. Twelve teams competed in the event.

Winners in the Judges’s Category were:
1st place – Happy Pig Café, Marvin Brunick, Captain
2nd place – Gumbo Yats “Gumbo Finger” – Dennis Caire, Captain
3rd place – Krewe of De Pez – Chris Price, Captain
In the Showmanship Category (decoration, theme and spirit) the winners were:
1st place – Gumbo Yats “Gumbo Finger” – Dennis Caire, Captain
2nd place – Krewe of Seville, Pete & Sue Bruno – Captain
3rd place – Culinary Productions/ Yumbo, Mike DeSorbo – Captain
And in the coveted People’s Choice Competition:
1st place – Krewe of DePez, Chris Price – Captain
2nd place – Krewe of Seville, Pete & Sue Bruno – Captain
3rd place – Gumbo Yats “Gumbo Finger” – Dennis Caire, Captain
